Proxy

Proxy - Stop it, Blog!

Proxy ─ or Proxies when there's more than one ─ is Slender's loyal assistant in Stop it, Slender! 2. Sharing the same goal as Slender, a Proxy must help eliminate all Citizens before they collect eight pages or activate all three generators. Unlike Slender, Proxies have a critical weakness: the Citizen's flashlight.

Overview

Proxy is a secondary antagonist in Stop it, Slender! 2. Proxies serve as Slender's helpers, assisting him in eliminating Citizens by touching them. While each individual touch deals low damage, the damage is applied every time you touch them ─ meaning if a Proxy keeps touching a Citizen long enough, they can secure a kill without Slender's help. Like Slender, Proxies can see:

  • Citizen battery levels.
  • How many pages each Citizen has collected.
  • Citizen locations through walls.
  • Slender's position even when he's invisible.

A Citizen's flashlight is a Proxy's greatest enemy. If a Citizen shines their flashlight on a Proxy for a few seconds, the Proxy's Proxy Energy will drain. Once depleted, the Proxy disappears and must wait 30 seconds to reappear. While faded, their movement speed is significantly reduced. To become a Proxy, you may:

  • Click the Spectate button at the lobby and pay 4 pages to become a Proxy.
  • Wait for the game to assign you as Proxy at the start of a round.
  • Respawn as a Proxy for free at Proxy Infection Mode.

Abilities

Proxies have three special abilities, each with its own cooldown. All abilities affect every Citizen in close proximity when activated.

๐Ÿ‘น Disorientation (Z)

When a Proxy uses this ability near Citizens, the Proxy's face appears all over their screens, creating visual chaos. Best used when:

  • Citizens are fleeing from you or Slender.
  • You want to make their escape path unstable.
  • Slender is nearby ─ panicked Citizens may accidentally look at Slender while shaking their screens.

This is the least useful ability for evading flashlights, but it excels at psychological disruption.

๐ŸŽญ Hallucination (X)

When activated, Citizens in range see a false Slender in front of them that does nothing but stand there menacingly. However, it behaves like the real Slender ─ the Citizen's screen warns them to look away, forcing them to avert their gaze. Best used when:

  • Citizens are pointing their flashlights at you.
  • You need to break their focus and stop them from draining your Proxy Energy.
  • You want to create confusion about the real Slender's location.

This is your primary defense against flashlights. Citizens will think the real Slender is nearby and look away, giving you precious seconds to escape or attack.

๐Ÿ”ฆ Flashlight Disable (C)

When activated, this ability turns off the flashlights of all nearby Citizens for a few seconds. Best used when:

  • You're ready to go on the offensive.
  • Citizens are vulnerable in the dark.
  • You want to set up easy damage for yourself or Slender.

This is the most useful ability for aggressive attacks. Citizens are left blind and helpless for several seconds until their flashlights flicker back on.

Combat

Mastering Proxy takes practice, but these tips will give you an edge in the hunt.

๐Ÿ”„ Manage Your Abilities

To deal consistent damage to Citizens, you need to cycle through your abilities wisely. Follow these steps:

  • Stalk and touch — Keep following Citizens and touching them to deal constant damage.
  • Use Disorientation (Z) — When they try to escape, make their path unstable.
  • Use Hallucination (X) — When they point their flashlight at you, make them see a false Slender and look away.
  • Use Flashlight Disable (C) — As a last resort, turn off their lights and go for the kill, then retreat to recover cooldowns.

๐Ÿค Coordinate With Slender

Slender and Proxy are a deadly combination when working together. Constant damage from both roles makes it much easier to win by endgame.

  • Double pressure ─ If Slender is stalking a Citizen, join in and deal constant damage.
  • Cover each other ─ If Slender can appear to draw their attention and prevent you from fading.
  • Coordinate attacks ─ Time your abilities with Slender's movements for maximum impact.

⚡ Generators Are Your Best Friend

Citizens powering Modern Generators are completely vulnerable. When you touch a Citizen at a Modern Generator:

  • The game forcefully stops them from recharging the generator.
  • They must restart the process, wasting precious time.

Citizens need all three generators activated to open certain areas containing pages. By repeatedly interrupting them, you delay their progress and buy time for Slender to arrive.

⚙️ Invest in the Proxy Perk

Proxy has two perks available, and it's worth investing in the one you can unlock with pages. The perk increases your Proxy Energy, giving you more time to escape while Citizens use their flashlights on you. More energy means longer survival and more pressure on the enemy team.

Trivia

  • Night Vision: Proxy, along with Slender and Spectators, can see in the dark without a flashlight. Proxies see everything with a greenish ambience.
  • Flashlight Immunity: Street lights and generator-powered lights do not drain Proxy Energy. Only handheld Citizen flashlights have this effect.
  • Proxy Infection Mode: In this special mode, Citizens turn into Proxies for free after death, making for chaotic, ever-growing hunter teams.
  • Spectator Purchase: In public servers, you can pay pages to become a Proxy after dying. In VIP servers, this is free.
  • Invisibility Awareness: Proxies can see Slender even when he's invisible ─ a crucial advantage for coordination.
